Swiss Stocks – Swiss stocks were closed on Friday and did not have a chance to react to US-Swiss trade tensions. To recap, US’ August 1st tariff on Switzerland unexpectedly rose to 39% from 31% set on April 2nd. Swiss President on Friday said the US' 39% tariff is much higher than what was negotiated and will have a very bad effect on the Swiss economy. Swiss President added that it is very difficult for Switzerland to offer more concessions to the US, and while Pharma is not affected, US tariffs are bad for the machinery and watch sectors. The Swiss government said it is to stay in touch with the US. The likes of Richemont (CFR SW) and Swatch (UHR SW) are indicated lower by around 5%
