EUROPEAN FIXED INCOME UPDATE: bonds wane after posting higher intraday peaks
Analysis details (11:19)
Gilts ran into psychological resistance just a few ticks shy of 115.00 even before results of the DMO’s 2025 auction came in strong and may have prompted some outperformance at the short end of the curve to leave the 10 year debt future lagging within a 114.96-50 range. However, EU stocks have also stabilised somewhat, with the Dax contract hovering above 14.5k to sap strength from Bunds that reached 149.80 before fading, and US Treasuries appear to have stalled awaiting another light pm agenda on the data front, but including the Usd 44 bn 3 year note leg of this week’s issuance remit that could tilt the curve a tad flatter.
