EUROPEAN FIXED INCOME UPDATE: bonds underpinned, but not overwhelming

Debt futures retain an underlying bid and resilience in the face of strength in equities and oil especially as a source of additional inflation pressure that could scupper peak price expectations and hopes. However, Bunds, Gilts and US Treasuries are all off best levels registered this week that would reinforce recovery momentum and retracement conviction, if reclaimed on a closing basis. Ahead, potentially key US PCE readings are due after another speech from the ECB’s chief economist Lane.
