EUROPEAN FIXED INCOME UPDATE: bonds off fresh recovery highs
Analysis details (11:05)
A volatile start to the new week for debt futures as Bunds, Gilts and the 10 year T-note succumbed to downside pressure during the early stages of EU trade when equities attempted to climb, but then decoupled somewhat and staged a strong rally through overnight and last Friday’s session peaks. The former reached 156.22 before running out of steam for an 88 tick gain on the day vs 26 tick loss, its UK equivalent hit 116.66 from 115.94 and its prior 115.97 Liffe settlement and the latter is just above par within a 119-16/04+ band. Ahead, quite a busy pm agenda and volumes should pick up a bit from Assumption of Mary holiday impacted lows.
