EUROPEAN FIXED INCOME UPDATE: bonds lose some or all their upward momentum
Analysis details (09:55)
Bunds retain a firm bid, but have faded more than their fellow EGBs and especially the periphery, while Gilts have reversed even further and below par alongside soft US Treasuries as the early buying interest abates. The core Eurozone debt future is below 129.00 within a 129.43-128.68 range after settling at 128.65 last Friday, its UK equivalent is hovering above 92.76 vs a 93.30 peak and 92.89 prior close and the T-note is at 106-08 between 106-14+/05+ parameters. No obvious catalyst for the pullback, but it could be partly technical and consolidative given the raft of risk events looming as October bows out and the new month gets underway.
