EUROPEAN FIXED INCOME UPDATE: bonds hang in the balance of hawkish Fed guidance
Analysis details (10:58)
Debt futures are ticking up again, and perhaps partly due to the fact that EU auctions are out of the way rather than as a direct response to the results per se, while Gilts may also be gathering momentum from BoE’s Dhingra who continues to push her case for no further tightening. Bunds have notched another fresh intraday peak, albeit marginal, at 131.30 and their UK equivalent is probing parity, at 100.09. while US Treasuries are grinding higher with the T-note towards the top of its 110-31+/20+ range as the clock continues to tick down to Fed Chair Powell in the House alongside JOLTS and in between ADP and Usd 32 bn 10 year supply.
