EUROPEAN FIXED INCOME UPDATE: bond bubbles burst after early inflation
Analysis details (10:33)
The data-related rebound in debt futures has been derailed, and a marked downturn or reversal in Gilts alongside the Sonia strip may have scuppered the recovery rally, irrespective of little obvious reason for the pullback. Nevertheless, the 10 year UK benchmark recently hit a new 103.48 Liffe low from 104.47 high, Bunds retreated further from 136.77 towards their 135.47 Eurex base and the T-note is closer to the bottom of a 114-09+/23+ range. Moreover, EGBs failed to get another fillip from the rest of Germany’s state inflation updates that matched the softer trend set by NRW in y/y terms, but not m/m in the case of any aside from Bavaria. Ahead, a raft of Central Bank speakers flank the final US Q4 GDP release and jobless claims.
