EUROPEAN FIXED INCOME UPDATE: almost deja vu for recovering debt futures
Analysis details (10:50)
Not quite a case of groundhog day for bonds, but a similar pattern panning out following another bounce from lows set on the back of a more upbeat than anticipated US macro release, and this time via the services sector ISM. Bunds and Gilts are off best levels between 141.44-140.58 and 106.312-105.83 respective extremes and absorbing reasonably well received 2 and 5 year offerings, but with UK bonds still awaiting longer-dated DMO issuance and lagging behind in the run up. Meanwhile, US Treasuries are tagging along having underperformed sub-par on Monday with the T-note just above 114-00 within a relatively tight 114-02+/113-25 overnight range.
