Amazon (AMZN) CEO says have not seen any attenuation of demand yet and has seen some heightened buying in certain categories that may indicate stocking up in advance of any potential tariff impacts
Says:
- Have not seen average selling price of retail items appreciably go up yet and most sellers haven't changed pricing yet, but could change depending on where tariffs settle.
- Everyday Essentials grew more than twice as fast as the rest of the business and represented one out of three units sold in the US on Amazon.
- Third party sellers have pulled forward inventory, and we're encouraging that so that we can keep prices as low as possible.
