Earlier: EU Commission says the prohibition of Russian gas imports will apply from 25th April 2026 for LNG and 17th June 2026 for pipeline gas, the latter can be extended to 30th September in case of difficulty filling gas storage. Pipeline gas imports under long-term contracts will be permitted until 30th September 2027. Legislative proposal to ban Russian oil imports will be put forward early-2026.
